A proud alumna of our public school system, I carry with me the lessons learned about the role diversity plays in bringing a community together.

My commitment to equality is rooted in the experiences I had in school. Witnessing our different backgrounds come together and seeing the inequities many faced every day was a learning experience that cannot be replaced–but my hope is to make it a  more equitable community and country for everyone.

My children will now attend the same schools I did growing up and I am very proud of that.

I’m ready to fight to help Americans across the country come together and thrive through equality.  We need to fight income inequality through a fairer tax system, expand social programs to help young families, enact sensible gun reform, and protect women’s healthcare everywhere. These are the tenets of my campaign and what I promise to pursue in federal office.
